The Laws Of The Game …
There are 17 laws of Association Football.

Number 1 - The Field of Play
This law is about the size of the pitch, how it is marked out and the size and type of goals permitted.

Number 2 - The Ball
This law is about the size of the ball, its pressure and what to do if it bursts.

Number 3 - The Number of Players
This law is about how many players are in a team and how subs are used.

Number 4 - The Player's Equipment
This law is about what players clothing and footwear players are allowed to wear.

Number 5 - The Referee
This law is about what powers and duties referees have.

Number 6 - The Assistant Referee
This law is about what powers and duties the assistant referees have.

Number 7 - The Duration Of The Match
This law is about how long the match should be played and how allowances are made for time lost.

Number 8 - The Start And Restart Of Play
This law is about how games start and restart after goals, second half and extra time.

Number 9 - The Ball In And Out Of Play
This law is about when the ball in in and out of play.

Number 10 - The Method of Scoring
This law is about what determines when a goal is scored.

This law is about what offside actually is AND is not.

Number 12 - Fouls and Misconduct
This law is about is a foul, the difference between direct and indirect free kicks, cautions and sending offs.

This law is about the difference between direct and indirect free kicks and how to take them.
