Queen's Park v Livingston

The 13's invited Livingston to a sunny Lesser Hampden today to play a friendly match as they had no scheduled match. We were all looking forward to an entertaining match and the lads had worked hard at training this week.

The first period started at the usual high tempo with both teams settling into their passing game. Both sides had similar styles of play and approached the game in a positive manner.

James Beattie finished off a good team goal with a well timed run and side stepped the Livingston Goalkeeper to slot home, this seemed to settle our players.

The second period Livingston controlled possession more and created a few good opportunities in front of goal but Scott Whyte kept another clean sheet.

Queen's were showing a bit more quality in front of goal today and further goals came in the 2nd and 3rd period Stephen Caw with good follow up play after the GK parried a shot, Ben Mullholand 2 good strikes one from a 25 yard free kick, Liam Reid a couple of 1v1's with GK and Jack Caven with a good driving run and finish.

Both teams deserve credit for the way they tried to build the play by passing on the excellent Lesser Hampden surface.

Iain Rennie Queen's coach said "We passed the ball better today and finished off some good moves and have shown signs of progress and development, well done".
