Queen's Park v South Side B.C.

Queen's played a friendly against a good South Side Boys' Club at Lesser Hampden tonight and looking to use this game to have a look at some players on trial. The conditions could not have been better with the temperatures not as warm as our last game.

The first period started at a good tempo as both teams were getting into their stride with good interchanges of passing and patterns of play but again the finishing touch in front of goal letting both teams down.

The South side goalkeeper was the busier of the two and pulled off some good saves to keep the scores level.

Queen's started the game with 3 trial players who all showed up well and the 4th who is a goalkeeper kept a clean sheet.

The second period followed a similar pattern with the game opening up slightly and it was Jaimie Gallagher who pounced onto a through ball from Liam Reid to blast a shot high into the roof of the net. This was no more than Queen's deserved as some of the link up play was good to watch which the watching spectators appreciated.

Young Jack Caven took an accidental head knock and had to be replaced so hope you recover ok Jack and back into action soon.

Queen's had several opportunities but again the South Side goalkeeper and defence were holding firm.

Our boys, some of which had school games earlier were given a wee rest and the best move and goal of the game came down our right flank after good build up play and several passes later young Ross Costello delivered a neat cross which was taken first time by Jordan Quinn who hit a screaming volley into the top corner and a goal he will remember for a long time to finish off a very worth while exercise.

The coaches were pleased with all the boys especially those who had school games and look forward to Sunday's game away to Queen of the South, well done.
