Queen's 13s played their sixth league fixture of the season at the impressive Toryglen indoor astro pitch today. The players who have worked hard this season were all looking forward to game and to continue with their good run of form.
The first period the boys started the game very brightly and moved the ball across the pitch at a good tempo and created several chances but most were from long range. We have been working on pressing the ball all over the pitch at training and the boys took this into the game today as we denied the opposition space and time on the ball.
Queen's dominated for long spells in the first period and should have created more scoring opportunities but our final ball and decision making in the final third needs some work.
The second and third period Queen's again dominated possession and were creating chances that the boys eventually took and scored several good goals with different players taking the chances that came their way, the scorers were Ryan Smith, Jay Hudson, Jack Caven, Chris Scott, Liam Reid, Dominic Boland, James Beattie, Ben Mulholland.
Credit must go to both teams who tried to pass the ball and played the game in the correct manner.
Andy Gilmartin queen's coach said 'The boys are enjoying their football playing with a smile on their faces and developing well but there is a lot of hard work to be done and we looking to maintain high standards which the club expect. Well done'.
