After a good work out during the week Queen's traveled to the outstanding Recreation Park for today's match against Alloa Athletic hoping not to get stung in the process.
From before the game had even kicked off it was clear to see that in terms of physical development the 'Wasps' players were ahead in this regard but the Queen's coaches were confident in the ability of the group to be able to match physical size of their opponents with strength and flair.
Following an even start Queen's began to take the ascendancy in the match aware of the threat posed by their opponents. With David Ramsay looking threatening from his position wide on the left using his undoubted skill to the team's advantage. The boys at the back were also looking comfortable following a late re-shuffle with Macualey Wilson as always looking composed on the ball and doing well to curtail his instinct to push forwards at all times.
For all the good passing football shown chances were few and far between. An excellent long range effort from O'Donnell was matched by some fine finishes from our opponents.
On chances created there can be no complaints today from Queen's and credit goes to the Alloa side.
Coach Murray Crouch commented 'I am pleased with certain aspect of our build-up. We must work harder on being more penetrative and at times direct when looking to create opportunities. We look forward now to training and next weeks game'.
