Having been on the road in recent games it was good to be back on home territory for the tussle with Arbroath. Playing with three strikers in recent weeks, the boys have looked comfortable and are enjoying the current team shape.
The accent was to be on the offensive and we started well. Our passing game would be key and we enjoyed lots of possession. Penetration from the flanks created many chances and a fine run from Robbie Cruickshank gave Ryan Smith the chance to finish - which he did with aplomb.
Arbroath defended in depth and good goalkeeping as well as a strong back four kept Queen's at bay, for a while.
However an excellent passage of play – straight from the training ground – saw a great cross clipped into the penalty box for David Ramsay to smash home.
Queen’s were always in control and Robbie Cruickshank added a fine goal following good build up play.
Arbroath defended until the end and deserve credit.
A pleased coach George Watson said "The boys have delivered a good level of consistency in recent weeks which we are keen to maintain. We return to the training ground where we will look to improve our strike ratio".
