St Johnstone v Queen's Park

Queen's Park travelled to Perth for their away tie against St Johnstone. Queen's were without Aiden Connelly who was still stranded abroad but added trialists Jack Murphy and Jack Haggerty to the squad.

Queen's started the game in a 1-4-3-3 formation. The first period saw two competitive teams working hard to break down there opponents defence. Half chances fell to both teams but the first period ended goal less.

In contrast to the first 30mins both teams managed to break the deadlock with 3 goals being scored in this period. It was St Johnstone that opened the scoring only with Raymond Lynch to cancel it out.

With the period coming to a close St Johnstone again found the opening to go into the third period one goal to the good.

The coaches knew a change was required and changed the formation to 1-4-4-2. Immediately the 15s reacted positively to this change with goal opportunities being created.

One fell to Craig Johnston who continued his impressive scoring rate by finishing putting the game all square. It remained this way with both teams sharing the spoils in a highly competitive game.

Coaches Andy Clark and Ross Paterson commented "This was a hard fought game with goal opportunities limited at both ends. There was an element of frustration to our game today with some sloppy play but the players kept working hard".
