Queen's 16s travelled across the city to play their Glasgow rivals Partick Thistle in this return fixture.
Queen's started brightly with the majority of possession. Good use of the full backs and the willing running of Gary Duggan and Robert Whelan up front meant Queen's were creating chance after chance. Unable to take any of these chances the half ended goalless.
The second half was a different story with Partick thistle clearly getting a lift from not losing any goals in the first half started to impose themselves on the game.
Queen's however gained the upper hand when a corner was met by defender Stephen Brodski who rose to powerfully head the ball into the net.
Queen's could not make this lead stick as they gave away a penalty which was converted by the Thistle midfielder.
In a game which was now end to end Queen's gained the advantage again for a corner with defender Andy Rainey stabbing the ball hoe from close range.
The scoring wasn't finished however as Partick rallied once more and equalised from a corner.
Queen's had several chances to finish the game off but a combination of good defending from Partick and Queen's forwards missing scoring chances the game finished all square.
Coach Andy Armour commented after the game "This is a disappointing result having dominated the first half and playing some excellent football. we have learned a lesson today that it's vital to take your chances a nd the game is never over until the ref blows the final whistle".
