Queen's 16s welcomed Queen of the South to Lesser Hampden on Sunday looking to build on their good performance in last weeks 3-1 friendly win against Alloa.
Queens's started brightly controlling the game and keeping possession well.
There was a lot of success down the left hand side with BJ, Andy Robertson and Gary Duggan combining well.
The breakthrough came after a great move passing move - Kyle Macbeth playing a fine through ball inside the left full back for Willie Boyd to run onto and slot home in the bottom left hand corner.
Queen's were in complete control and looked like scoring every time they went forward.
Andy Robertson added a second before Conor Mcvey deservedly got his name on the scoresheet driving it low from the edge of the box.
Then Robert Whelan's quick feet took him past 3 players before he finished from the edge of the box.
Just before half time there was nearly another but Gary Duggans free kick crashed against the cross bar.
Into the second half and queens continued to control the game. Gary Duggan added another with a good first time finish.
Also on the scoresheet were Ryan Bennett and Brian Coyle with Robert Whelan also getting his second of the game.
Queen’s coaches "A great performance which was well deserved, our passing and movement was excellent today. A couple of stand out performances from Robert Whelan and Gary Duggan in particular and it was also very pleasing to get a clean sheet. Well done boys".
