Queen's Park v Cowdenbeath

After a week off in the League, Queen's were back in action today against Cowdenbeath. The match was played at Lesser Hampden.

It was a strong start for the 16s as they quickly got a hold of the game and dictated play and dominated possession. They took the lead with excellent forward play. A through ball found striker Gary Duggen in the clear. Gary slid the ball home with force.

Queen's continued to dominate for large spells in the first half and it was an excellent surging run from midfielder Conor McVey which resulted in the midfielder heading home from close range.

Into the second half and Queen's produced more good play culminating with a neat finish from Conor McVey to cap an excellent individual performance.

Queen's begin to lose their way after that and Cowdenbeath took advantage, controlling the game and eventually pulling a goal back as a result of confusion at the back for Queen's.

Coach Graham Connell commented 'We were satisfied with some aspects of our performance but we need to improve for next week's trip to Arbroath'.
