Livingstone 0-5 Queen's Park

The 17s travelled along the M8 today to play Livingston. This was going to be a tough test as Livingstone were impressive on their home patch and was made worse due to the driving rain.

This game almost didn't get started as the referee wasn't happy with one of the goals and it had to be delayed by 30min with Livingston worked on repairing the goal.

Once we got started you could see the conditions where going to play a part as the surface was very greasy. Livingston almost took the lead when a miss kick allowed their striker a sniff at goal but Queen's keeper, Grant Hay, was out to deny and the defence managed to clear.

Queen's on the offence soon found themselves 1-0 up after good play from Luke Whelan and a defence splitting pass found Kieran Kennedy with a 1 v 1 against the Livi goalkeeper. He slotted coolly underneath his body to open the scoring.

With this Queen's really started to get a grip of game but found their finishing to be missing and the half finished at 1-0 to Queen's.

The second half Queen's soon took the game to Livingston and found themselves 2-0 up after good wing play from Owen Ronald resulting in a shot which keeper saved only for Danny Hepburn to tap home the rebound.

With this the game really opened up and the game was put to bed when a cross from Danny Hepburn found its way into the top corner.

The game was over as a contest although Livingston pushed hard Queen's found plenty of space in behind and the 17s soon found their fourth. This time it came from good wing play from Owen on the right and a cross resulting in Kieran Blackwood putting the finishing touch to the cross.

Number five soon followed with a short corner finding its way to Daniel Hepburn who's shot was well saved only for Kieran Blackwood to be on hand again to knock the ball home.

Coach Paul Ronald commented "5-0 is obviously a good result away from home and the boys must take great credit for their play and attitude in horrible conditions, against a good Livingston team".
