Livingston 1-9 Queen's Park

The 17s played their last SFL League Cup section game against Livingston through at Almondvale. The 17s went into this game already knowing they have qualified so could play with no pressure - would they be able to keep their quality up?

Queen's started well and passed the ball about the pitch very well scoring a good goal from Conor McVey after good work from Jordan McGuire on the wing.

You would have thought this would have been what the 17s needed but soon they got slack and stopped moving the ball as well.

This is understandable considering nothing at stake though. However during the rest of the period Queen's managed to score two more goals from Danny Hepburn and Kieran Kennedy.

Into the second half it was always the coaches intention to get all the boys game time and with a few changes they made it seemed to help the team as they upped their levels and scored a further 6 goals - Kieran Kennedy, Danny Hepburn, Kieran Blackwood and a hat-trick from Owen Ronald.

Coach Paul Ronald commented "It was good to see the boys play to a high standard again and create numerous chances to score which was very good for the coaches to see".

Queen's have now won all three section games and progress to the semi-finals. More details to follow.
