Queen's first pre-season friendly got off to a disappointing start with a 0-6 defeat to a strong Threave Rovers team.
Queen's fielded five trialist after the squad was affected with call offs from Gallacher and McCrone.
The 19s started game well enough and had spells in the game were they did not take advantage of the good possession and the chances that were created with the home keeper making many fine saves.
The line-up was 3-5-2 with trialist in goal, an unfamiliar back three of McGowan, Barbour & O’Hara, Midfield we had Nadeem central, Morton wide left with three trialists making it five across the middle. Up front we had a trialist working partnering Graham.
On the bench three of last years seventeen’s Murney, MacKenzie & Jones with Chamberlain the back up keeper.
Although disappointed in the result, coach Robert Kelly commented "We had good performances from O’Hara, Nadeem, McGowan and Murney".
