Queen's 19s beat Cowdenbeath 3-2 at Lesser Hampden.
Queen's started the game well and missed good chances that both Morton and Nadeem should have done better. Our opponents eased their way in to the game and poor marking at set plays allowed the visitors to take a two goal lead after 35mins.
The 19s got a lifeline on the stroke of half time when Morton scored after good play down the right from Baillie and Murney.
After a talking to at the break Queen's came flying out of the traps with our wide men getting joy down both flanks.
Queen's were rewarded with an equalizer after 65mins.
They got the all important third and the winner from an unlikely source as Green stepped up to hit a tremendous free kick from 30yds.
Coach Robert Kelly commented after the game "Over all a good performance apart from a ten minute spell in the first half where we let our opponents score at two set plays we dominated and with more clinical finishing we could have scored a few more".
The Queen's team was: McPherson, Baillie, Gallacher, Green, Murney, Cook, Afzal, O’Hara, Mackenzie, Nadeem & Morton
The subs were: Barbour for Cook(80mins), Blockley for Afzal(80mins).
Subs not used: Hangula, Jones & Hay.
